Wildlife Population & Aerial Surveys

Drone-Based Wildlife Intelligence for Ranches & Large Properties

J&E Tex Drones LLC provides drone-based aerial wildlife population surveys designed to help ranch owners, land managers, and large-property stakeholders gain accurate insight into animal presence, movement patterns, and habitat usage across expansive acreage.

J&E Tex Drones LLC provides aerial data collection and visual documentation services only.
All services are observational in nature and designed to support planning, recordkeeping, and consultation with licensed wildlife professionals and landowners.

Using enterprise-grade unmanned aircraft systems equipped with advanced thermal imaging, high-resolution visual sensors, precision navigation, onboard lighting, and integrated safety systems, we conduct efficient aerial survey operations that deliver reliable data while minimizing disturbance to wildlife and land.

Our aerial survey methodology allows for the identification and documentation of:

  • Wildlife population distribution across large properties

  • Movement corridors and high-activity areas

  • Habitat utilization and terrain interaction

  • Seasonal and environmental influence on wildlife behavior

All operations are conducted using non-intrusive, low-impact aerial methods designed to minimize disturbance to wildlife, livestock, and land operations.

Thermal imaging supports effective detection during low-light conditions, early morning, evening, and shaded environments where traditional ground observation may be limited. Visual imagery provides clear documentation to support review, planning, and long-term land management strategies.

Aerial wildlife surveys serve as a powerful complement to on-the-ground observations, offering a broader perspective that supports informed decision-making for conservation planning, property management, and operational awareness.

Survey deliverables may include annotated imagery, documented observation zones, and visual records suitable for planning, review, and long-term reference.

What to Expect During a Wildlife Population & Aerial Survey

1. Pre-Survey Planning

Before the flight, property boundaries and survey objectives are reviewed to determine the appropriate flight area, timing, and survey approach. This planning ensures efficient coverage while minimizing disturbance to wildlife and land operations.

2. Low-Light or Nighttime Aerial Operations

Wildlife surveys are typically conducted during low-light conditions, early morning, evening, or nighttime hours when animal activity is more visible using thermal imaging technology.

3. Autonomous Thermal Survey Flight

A pre-planned, mapping-style flight route is used to systematically survey the property. The aircraft follows this route autonomously while continuous thermal video is recorded to document wildlife presence and activity.

4. Live Observation During Flight

While the survey is underway, the thermal feed is monitored in real time to observe animal presence, grouping behavior, movement patterns, and areas of repeated activity across the property.

5. Non-Intrusive Survey Methods

All operations are performed using low-impact aerial techniques designed to minimize disturbance to wildlife, livestock, and ongoing land activities.

6. Post-Flight Review and Documentation

After the flight, recorded thermal footage is reviewed to confirm observations, identify activity zones, and prepare visual documentation that supports planning and long-term recordkeeping.

7. Data Delivery

Clients receive access to recorded thermal imagery and selected visual documentation suitable for review, planning, and consultation with licensed wildlife or land management professionals.

Important Note
